The Olympics are finally over and we can get some normal sleep. Of course, Shayli got the outcome she wanted: The U.S. Womens soccer team won the gold & local girl Natasha Kai scored a goal. Every game came on at 3:00 a.m. Hawaii time, so if we wanted to watch it live it had to be on the weekend. We did let her watch the gold game and with it being on a school day, it sure was a long day for Shayli, but she said it was totally worth it!
So here is our blog paying tribute to Shayli's favorite Olympic sport and Gold Medal Winners!!

Yea, I know how you feel about finally getting some sleep. We would stay up late every night. My most exciting game was the basketball team playing for the gold. It started at midnight. I TiVo-ed it and watched it Sunday morning. I was dying as I watched it and Spain kept up with them the whole game. That was a nail biter for me. The Olympics were fun. Our favorite.....Shawn Johnson. Kim called her 'the little bull dog'. We loved how she ran. Her short little legs. She was so cute and we were so excited she finally won a gold medal in gymnastics.
Yea, that ward is really fun. The kids are great. It just just cut in half with all of the kids who just went back to college. So we are re-doing the FHE groups, and are only having 2 groups instead of 4. You asked how Emily was doing, she will be having the little skutter bug next week, if not before. Her Dr. wants to start her on the 3rd, because he is going to Italy on the 5th. She and Brad wants to try and have her on Monday, since it is a holiday, and Brad is off, and everyone is on holiday. So we shall see. I thought she would have her yesterday, since she felt so miserable, but no. Emily told her baby a couple of days ago, that her rent was up, and that she had to come out now. That daddy wanted to see her, and that she was being a mooch, staying there so long. I cracked up. They are so funny.
I know what you're saying about staying up late to watch the Olympics! We didn't have to stay up til 3, but usually til about 11:30. For me, that was fine, because I could sleep in. Brad, however, didn't get a whole lot of sleep for a while! Tell Shayli congrats on her soccer team! Woohoo! I really enjoyed the Olympics this year. Probably because I was finally actually able to watch them and enjoy them. It's a bummer they're over.
